BATIK
Batik as still popular in Indonesia. Wherever you
go, you will see many people wearing”batik”. Nowadays, students from certain
schools wear “batik” shirts or blouses as their uniform . Do you know how “
batik “ cloth is made ?
“ batik” is traditionally made by
women, either at home
or in a small workshop. The material used is usually cotton . Today however,
silk, satin and other materials are also used.
The design is outlined on the piece cloth in
pencil or charcoal. Molten wax is the applied by using ‘canting’
. The ‘ canting ‘ is used to draw the pattern on the cloth. The material is
then dipped in a dye. Wax is applied to certain area in order that the colour
does not penetrate. The wax is then removed and the process is repeated with
different coloured dye .

FRANKFURT, Germany (AFP) - Hamburg striker
Paolo Guerrero has been banned for five matches for throwing a bottle at a fan
after his side's goalless draw with Hanover last weekend, the German football
federation (DFB) said on Thursday.
The sanction means that the season is over for
Guerrero, who had just returned from a serious knee injury, and he may not play
in the Bundesliga again with his contract set to expire at the endof May.
The Peruvian reacted angrily after being
verbally abused at the entrance to the tunnel as he left the field.
He threw a plastic bottle at a fan, striking
him in the face, and has been already punished by his club with a

FOODS THAT CAUSE ACNE
Acne is one of the most hated enemy by
everyone,
especially women. Acne is not including a dangerous disease. But its presence
is very annoying, though acne is not harmful but should we treat and handle
well.
Acne is caused by clogged pores due to
overactive oil glands.
Although many medical experts who denied any connection between acne with the
food we eat, there's no harm in avoiding some foods that supposedly can trigger
acne.
Here are some foods can cause acne:
1. Sugar and Chocolate
Chocolate may be one of the most food trigger
acne. Archives of Dermatology published a study which explains that the food
has a high Glycemic Index scale, usually in processed carbohydrates such as
sugar can cause the appearance of acne due to increased hormone levels.
2. Milk
Some studies show a high milk intake may be
associated with the appearance of acne. A Harvard study found that teens who
drink milk more than two servings a day are more likely to suffer from severe
acne. That is because the increase in growth hormone which causes the sebaceous
glands in the skin become clogged.
3. Iodine
Iodine may be one factor in the appearance of
acne, such as skin oil glands which can irritate skin that is prone to acne.
Iodine can be found in fish and shellfish because sea water contains iodine. In
addition other sources comes from iodized salt which is a component of several
types of canned food.
4.Caffeine and Alcohol
Caffeine is affect hormone levels produced by
the body.
Some sources of caffeine are coffee, tea, soft drinks, and chocolate. In
addition, alcohol also causes an increase in hormones, particularly
testosterone can cause acne more often.
5. Food Allergy Triggers
Skin problems often arise due to food
allergies, especially milk and eggs. Acne appears due to the immune system
tries to fight the poison that is felt. An allergist has diagnosed and
confirmed the relationship of food allergy with severe acne.
6. Fruit and Vegetable Characteristically Acid
Some fruits and vegetables that are acidic can
cause the appearance of acne, such as carrots, cucumbers, oranges, and lettuce.
The acidity of the body can cause the appearance of acne, because it should be
avoided.

WEAKNESSES OF INDONESIAN ECONOMIC
Weaknesses of Indonesian Economic Chamber of
Indonesia Commerce and Industry (Kadin) declared Indonesian economy that is
actually very promising for both domestic and foreign investors. However, there
are still weaknesses seeing by Kadin of the economy that need to be addressed.
Vice Chairman of Kadin Indonesia, Novian Anindya Bakrie said, promising Indonesian
economy is evidenced by incoming investment, private consumption, and
vibrant business world. “But there are still some weaknesses that Indonesia’s
economic structure needs to be addressed now,” said Anindya at Menara Kadin
Jakarta, Wednesday (06/03/2013).
Anindya see Indonesia’s economic weakness is
in the trade deficit. Currently due to larger imports than exports then it
makes more Indonesian trade balance to be deficit. Moreover, the largest import
of oil and gas. On the other hand, Anindya also highlights subsidy of oil (BBM)
to the people who actually are not even on target. Current budget fuel subsidy
enjoyed by the rich instead. “As the impact, the deficit and the high pressure
gas imports that led to the weakening of the rupiah,” he added. Again, the
actual budget for infrastructure even neglected. He rated in the last few
months that there is no improvement of government policy so that a problem
cannot be resolved. Though foreign investors intending to invest in Indonesia
as it will look up the bureaucratic infrastructure. If not good, then foreign
investors will pull out of Indonesia.
